The magnetic shield
The Earth can be considered a magnet with two poles, one positive and one negative.
We could say, for simplicity, that the earth behaves as if its center there was a very powerful bar magnet tilted 11 degrees 30 'with respect to the axis of the Earth. The magnetic poles, in fact, do not coincide with geography. Look at that star, the sun ... it was
look far and time travel. Let us lift our eyes and pick any star. We see it as "was" and certainly not as it is at this time. Sirius, for example, the brightest star in the sky (after the sun of course) visible in the lower left of the beautiful constellation of Orion, appears to us as it was eight years ago. If it exploded in the meantime we'll find out just eight years after the explosion, but for all that time we will continue to see its light. Sirius is in fact 8 years
light, this means that the star's light takes 8 years to bridge the gap between us and her.
